Diguisit Coast of Baler

The Rugged Diguisit Coastline of Baler

Facing the Pacific has its own assets. Surfing waves are its most ideal, hence Baler in the province of Aurora is known for being a pilgrimage center of surfistas both local and foreign. If you are not into surfing and you would just like to experience and feel Mother Nature’s beauty, then Baler’s coastline in Diguisit can be your therapy. Yet the best time to experience it’s ruggedness-December.

Amihan, or northeast monsoon, is at its peak during December and January. Surfers head to Baler as the waves are at its best during this season. The wind is cold—imported from Siberia and Japan. The skies are grey—just like in Hogwarts, I guess. The rain, although gentle, it brought chills.

The Pacific and the coastline.
The Pacific and the coastline.

Yes folks, this isn’t the tropical Aurora Province during amihan season. Since it faces the Pacific, the wind and waves are stronger.

Amihan in Baler
Amihan, or the northeast monsoon, brings light rain, clouds, even ideal surfing waves and cool winds to Baler.

And just as the waves come crashing into Diguisit coastline, the scene of Baler’s coastline is just like in some foreign land.

Windswept rocks

The rocky outcrops splash among the giant waves of the Pacific. The thunder of white and blue is like a charge of the cavalry from the great ocean, fighting against tierra firme while being accompanied by clouds of amihan with times when the sun’s rays peek and pour its glory against the grey sky morning.

If you’re a writer, I’m sure you can get some inspiration from this scene.

If you’re just like me, an ordinary urban dweller, it’s a therapy from the rough and hard noises of the Big City.
